The Big Berkey Water Filter is the most popular Berkey water filter system. Thanks to its gravity-fed purification system it's perfect for everyday home kitchen use, outdoor activities, and a must in environments where electricity, water pressure, or treated water may not be available. The 9.5 liter / 2.25 gallon capacity of the Big Berkey, and its ability to use up to four Black Berkey purification elements, makes this the ideal Berkey filter for medium-sized families or groups of up to four people.

The Big Berkey water filter system comes with everything you need to start purifying your drinking water within minutes of assembly, including two Black Berkey purification elements. To provide clean drinking water more rapidly, you can add two extra Black Berkey filter elements as the Big Berkey filter can hold up to four Black Berkey filters. In addition to the 4 black Berkey water purification element, you can also add up to 4 PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic filters in the lower chamber of the Big Berkey.
The black Berkey elements purify both treated water and untreated raw water from such sources as remote lakes, streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries, where regulations may be substandard at best. The black Berkey water filter elements remove pathogenic bacteria, viruses, cysts and parasites entirely and extract harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, organic solvents, radon 222 and trihalomethanes. The filters also reduce nitrites and heavy metals such as lead and mercury. The Berkey water filtration system is so powerful that it can remove food colouring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs.
The lid, as well as the upper and lower containers of the Big Berkey are all made of high-grade, durable 304 stainless steel that is engineered to last a lifetime. You can upgrade your Royal Berkey waterfilter with a stainless steel spigot and a stainless steel stand.
